Sandwiched between a doctor's office and an empty storefront,
Fuego 718 is literally a glowing beacon of light on a restaurant and bar heavy block of Grand Street. The incredibly unique, and seemingly infinite collection of items for sale, curated by Alex, the Barcelona-born shop owner, includes "el dia de lo muertos" artifacts, milagros from Italy, jewelry and accessories - all handcrafted by artisans and designers from all over the world.
Alex recently expanded the shop to house a gallery space, showcasing artists from around the world. Currently on display is work by Michelle Cavigliano (Brooklyn),
Laura Osorno (NYC), Johanna Wright (Portland), Mara Catalan (Madrid),
Jimbo (NYC), and George Kocar (Ohio). The show is on through February, and a new show goes up in March.
